Pick your touring dates, between November and March to experience New Zealand on this 13-day self-guided tour of the 2 main Islands of New Zealand. After picking up your bike you will ride through the rugged mountains of the Southern Alps running the length of the Sth Island, riding along beautiful sweeping coastal roads, through old growth rain forests, and rugged hill country. While enjoying gentle sweeping corners mixed with twisty back roads. Crossing over to the North Island you will continue your trip of a lifetime.

Choose your tour dates between November and March.

Beginning in Christchurch and ending in Auckland; [Ferry crossing included] where you will pick up your bike before enjoying a relaxing evening before your adventure begins.

The roads in NZ are in good condition, with light traffic outside the cities. Aside from encountering roads under repair, you will not be required to ride on any unsealed roads.

This tour is suitable for Intermediate or Advanced riders. Note: New Zealanders drive on the left-hand side of the road and so must you.

This exciting tour includes accommodation ranging from modern cabins to deluxe quality hotels.

Use your own motorcycle or rent one of our touring motorcycles, which are licensed, safety inspected and verified by the NZ government.

A valid Passport along with appropriate approval is required for entry into New Zealand.
A current Driver's License from your country of residence is required for motorcycle rental.

Tour Itinerary

Day #1 Airport Shuttle to Hotel

You will be met at the Christchurch International Airport and shuttled first to your hotel to check in, and then a short taxi ride to pick up your bike.

The rest of the day is set aside to allow you to settle in and rest up before the adventure begins tomorrow—or you can visit some of the city sights.

Day #2 Christchurch to Queenstown 540 km / 335 mi route (Approx. 7:05 hrs. riding)

After breakfast, head out on a longer day for some easy riding through NZ’s open range country towards Mount Cook. Stop to view NZ’s highest peak, before continuing on to the country’s adventure capital; Queenstown. This is your destination for the day. 

Enjoy a relaxing dinner to wrap up the day.

Day #3 Rest Day - Queenstown 0 km / 0 mi route (Approx. 0:00 hrs. riding)

Today is a treat for all adventure junkies, an optional jet boat ride and an optional relaxing ride alongside a large lake before an optional gondola ride to dinner overlooking beautiful Queenstown.

Day #4 Queenstown to Hokitika 490 km / 305 mi route (Approx. 7:00 hrs. riding)

If you love waterfall’s, wild bush, misty mountains, rugged lake shores and easy sweepers then today is your day. The road will take you alongside lakes, rivers, and great photo opportunities. Also, another great GoPro day.

Lunch at a quaint country pub/hotel before some amazing cornering that will bring you to your stop for the night.

Day #5 Hokitika to Nelson 410 km / 255 mi route (Approx. 6:05 hrs. riding)

Today’s ride takes you along the Sth. Island’s world-famous coastal highway, sweeping through fantastic corners, riding past rocky outcrops and sandy beaches. Mix this with some fantastic stops for one-of-a-kind scenery, and you have a ride location that is amazing.

Day #6 Nelson to Wellington 130 km / 80 mi route (Approx. 2:40 hrs. riding)

Picturesque seascapes, windy roads, native bush, changing elevations & numerous photo stops make up the highlights of today’s ride. This is a GoPro day. (Make sure your GoPro is ready with plenty of back up batteries) Stopping at any one of the many small local restaurants to sample fresh seafood, along with some optional ziplining makes this a fun day. A ferry crossing to the Nth. Island ends your day.

Day #7 Wellington to Napier 395 km / 245 mi route (Approx. 6:00 hrs. riding)

Leaving NZ’s Capital City, you head north through rugged ranges, and rich farmland towards NZ’s wine country and art deco center. Stopping along the way for photos and sight-seeing before arriving at your stop for the night make this a relaxing day. Stop along the way to visit the "Longest Place Name in the World". A walk on the beach is a nice finish to your day.

Day #8 Napier to Rotorua 490 km / 305 mi route (Approx. 7:25 hrs. riding) 

Today takes you through bush covered hills leading you to some great gorge riding. Fantastic cornering with great scenery makes this this is a GoPro day. (Make sure your GoPro is ready with plenty of back up batteries) The road leads to the Geo-thermal center of the Nth. Island for an optional visit to an authentic Māori village surrounded by active geysers & mud pools.

Day #9 Rotorua to Cambridge 175 km / 110 mi route (Approx. 2:45 hrs. riding)

Today’s easier riding takes you through rolling country, past manicured farms, and around gentle corners, as you cruse through the central part of the Nth. Isl. An optional stop to walk through Hobbiton gives you a change of pace, before arriving at your stop for the day. 

Day #10 Cambridge Loop 210 km / 130 mi route (Approx. 3:45 hr. riding)

After a relaxing breakfast, take a short loop to enjoy some easy riding combined with optional visits to 2 of NZ’s major attractions.  A chance to float through their world-famous Glow Worm caves and a stop to walk through a bird sanctuary, getting up close to native birds & animals make this a relaxing day.

Day #11 Cambridge to Orewa 450 km / 280 mi route (Approx. 6.50 hrs. riding)

The rugged coast calls your name as you head north through some amazing gorges, along white sandy beaches, and over bush clad ranges. A short ride through NZ’s largest city brings you to your stop for the night in beach side accommodation. Have your GoPro ready.

Day #12 Orewa to Auckland Hotel 150 km / 95 mi route (Approx. 2:30 min. riding)

A last day on the bike takes you further north, before swinging across the narrow island and heading back towards NZ’s largest city. Relaxing cruising along well-maintained back roads is a fitting end to this fantastic tour. After dropping your bike off and catching the taxi to your hotel for the night; the fun begins as you start to pack for the trip home.

Day #13 Shuttle to Airport

Your last day in NZ begins with a relaxing breakfast, and a short shuttle ride, to the airport. This shuttle ride is filled with talk about the adventure you’ve just had, and the fun experienced.
